There are so many different ways to heal a wound and how long it takes for a wound to heal is different and is dependent on the individual. So, you had a cut and are worried because you probably have either a baseball game or a tennis game coming up and would like to know of the fastest way to heal a wound.
The first thing to do, if you have a cut or a wound, is to stop the bleeding.
Apply pressure on the cut or wound and hold it there for a few minutes. Once the bleeding stops, clean the wound using soap and water. I also like to use hydrogen peroxide to clean the wound. Determine how deep the wound is for you may need stitches. If you won’t need stitches then go ahead and apply some Neosporin ointment on the area and then, leave it be. If the need for band aid arises, do so but as sooner you take that band aid off the sooner that wound will heal.
If you are diabetic, the healing process may take longer same goes if you are obese. Again, be sure to keep the area clean and dry and apply antibiotic ointment on the wound this will be the fastest way to heal a wound.
If you need stitches, you will not need to keep the area covered – the sooner you have it “air out” the fastest way to heal a wound. Keeping the wound “open” does not mean you leave it alone. Apply the ointment at least 3 times a day.
Still, the fastest way to heal a wound is by not touching it, literally leave it alone and only tend to it when you need to clean or apply medication on it. Constant handling of the wound could only lead to infection which would prolong the healing process.
In case there is an infection, you will notice the area red and swollen and there may be some pulsing or throbbing on the area. If there is pus present, take the pus out or clean it out and use a topical cleaner on the area such as hydrogen peroxide and the likes. Apply some antibiotic ointment on the area as well. If the cut or wound is deep, go to your doctor and have him treat it and ask for the best treatment for the fastest way to heal a wound.
If you have a cut in your hand and would need that hand for whatever activity, the best thing to do is to treat the wound and clean it and then move the area of exercise the hand as best you can by either using a stress ball or even a tennis ball.
Usually, a cut our wound would heal in about 7 days, the fastest, and could last for as long as months for others. If your wound is not healing well in about 10 days to 2 weeks, go to your doctor and have him check the wound. Believe it or not, the best way to heal a wound is to be in the best health you can be.
