How long do hemorrhoids last?

The development of hemorrhoids over time increases in size to a point where they can cause itching, burning and become inflamed and when get big enough it may prolapse and protrude out of the anus. Sometimes the protruding hemorrhoids may develop blood clots and thus plugging the vein. It is at this time that it could cause extreme discomfort, swelling and a big pain in the ass (no pun intended).

No one really know how long do hemorrhoids last. The answer is dependent on the individual and dependent on the type of hemorrhoid, i.e. internal or external.

Obese patients are more likely to suffer from this condition. Don’t forget, hemorrhoids is also passed down through genetics.

How long do hemorrhoids last depends on how long the patient is willing to suffer or tolerate the condition. Once again, further inflammation could be prevented and with surgery, hemorrhoids could be taken out totally. Speak to your doctor about the gravity of the situation. If you suffer from hemorrhoids, where the pain is too much to handle and the bleeding is extreme and discomfort intolerable – seek your doctor, better yet, see a vascular surgeon. However, if the condition is mild and tolerable and if the hemorrhoids “popping” up is infrequent, you may not need surgery but perhaps being healthier could be the way to get rid of the hemorrhoids.
