But, this is not at all true. There are plenty of chances for men also to get yeast infection. It has been established that most men will go through their lives without realizing that they have a yeast infection because yeast infection in men is a little hard to detect. In women, vagina gets infected and so it serves as an easy way to detect yeast infection whereas in males, it is not at all so. If a woman has yeast infection, the chances are that her man can also acquire it if they both have sex together. During sex, male urethra is quite exposed and vulnerable to getting a yeast infection from a female who has already been infected.
Men who are known to drink large amount of beer are known to have skin yeast on their penis. More than the male penis, the female vaginal canal is more favorable for the yeast to grow.

  • Acquiring yeast infection

Some of the common ways in which a male can acquire yeast infection is to consume beer, peanuts, barley and having sex with an already infected female. The above food items are contaminated with harmful molds and people consume them without knowing that they cause yeast infection.

  • Symptoms of yeast infection in men

Ladys and elderly men usually experience digestive problems and constipation. Some of the other symptoms are bad breath, indigestion, diarrhea, loose stools, athlete’s feet and dry skin. Also, the infected people have a deep carving for sweets, chips and other snacks. These food items are more favorable for the yeast infection parasite to build on our body and so the infected male actually helps the parasite to grow in his body without his knowledge.

  • Simple test to check for yeast infection in men

The most simple test is explained below. When you wake up in the morning, do not get out of bed. Instead, spit 2 drops of saliva in a glass of water. Observe the glass of water for the next 15 minutes or so. If the saliva dissolves into the water, then chances are that you do not have yeast infection.
But, on the other hand, if the saliva becomes thick and goes down to the bottom instead of dissolving, then the odds are against you. It is time to visit a doctor for proper medical treatment.

  • Yeast infection in male on the penis

Yeast infection in men is usually found on the outer skin of the penis. Sometimes, the yeast infection can get into the urethra and cause problems. This can cause itches on the inside of the penis which can be highly irritating. Once the yeast infection has spread on the penis, then it is very hard to get rid of it. Slowly, the affected skin will start to harden. When the penis receives an erection, the skin cracks and can be very painful. It is much easier to get rid of a yeast infection on the penis in the initial stage instead of later.
Even though medicines are widely available, it is better not to get affected by yeast infection even once in our lifetime as it can be highly painful.
Thus, the yeast infection in men has been discussed.
